Tap & Hold

First time user experience

This project aimed to teach users how to utilize the "Tap and Hold" functionality for scanning QR codes when making UPI payments during the First Time User Experience (FTUE). It aimed to enhance user's understanding of this feature, simplifying their UPI payment process.

The Problem

Our project management system is inefficient, causing missed deadlines, duplicated work, and frustration. Communication is unclear, files disorganized, and progress tracking is challenging. We lack a centralized hub for data, hindering decision-making and evaluation. These issues reduce efficiency, increase stress, and impact our work quality, making it vital to find a comprehensive solution.

Proposed solution

During the first-time user experience (FTUE), the "Tap and hold" function was initiated, generating ripple-like formations, the representation of energy. Once the user taped and continuously held the button, elements appeared to be drawn towards their thumb area, giving a sense of empowerment. Additionally, the user constantly sensed a haptic feedback during the entire operation.

This activity, in turn, triggers the camera function to guide the user to "Tap and Hold" for scanning and transaction processes.

Result

A 20% surge was observed in those executed "Tap and hold" directly. The FTUE's gamification was appreciated by the users.
